What your regional centre can do for you

Regional centres can help when:

  • you are a business operator, or a person seeking to open a business in your region
  • you want to expand or move into one of our regional centre areas to pursue a business opportunity or to invest.

Your local regional centre can provide you with information about:

  • starting up a new business
  • operating and growing a business
  • making a business more innovative, productive or resilient
  • maximising export and investment opportunities
  • advancing major projects.

The Department contributes to regional growth by:

  • supporting sustainable regional development
  • promoting regions as a place to invest, work and live
  • influencing and coordinating activities to attract and retain the population
  • actively pursuing strong partnerships with key industry sectors
  • fostering a positive business environment for business and industry
  • aggressively seeking to identify major new opportunities to assist the State's development
  • strengthening the State's export performance.

This is achieved through a state-wide network of regional centres that provide strategic regional leadership and regional development services to support the creation of a globally competitive Queensland.

Your local regional centre can provide information about:

  • starting up a new business
  • export and investment opportunities
  • building and improving business
  • advancing major projects
  • identifying joint venture opportunities.

The Department also supports business development through a range of online products and services including:
